About the church
Saint Mary and Saint Abraam is a Coptic Orthodox church in Ajax, on the east side of the Greater Toronto Area. The priests are Fr. Michael and Fr. Moses. The congregation prays the liturgy of the See of Saint Mark: Psalms and Gospel at Vespers and Matins, then the Pauline epistle, the Catholic epistle, the Acts, the Psalm, and the Holy Gospel in the Divine Liturgy.
The church carries two names. Saint Mary is the Theotokos, the Mother of God. Saint Abraam is Anba Abraam, the bishop of Fayoum remembered for a mercy that emptied his own house for the poor. Their icons face a church that keeps Sunday school, youth meetings, family gatherings, vespers, and midnight praise through the week.

The hours of liturgy move with the fasts and the feasts. The calendar is drawn from the church’s own public schedule. If you are coming for the first time, call ahead, then stay for the agape when it is offered.
